The Roundtable on Public Interfaces of the Life Sciences is a group of leaders from federal agencies, the business community, media, non-profit, and academic sectors and other organizations active in the life sciences and public engagement. The roundtable convenes public workshops to explores needs, challenges, and opportunities for public communication about the life sciences. At the workshops, experts offer insight through presentations and discussion. Roundtable workshops are designed to foster information exchange, enable in-depth discussion, and generate ideas for further action on needs, gaps, or priorities. The presentations and the dialogue that occur between invited speakers and attendees are webcast and documented in a written summary.

The Public Interfaces Initiative is overseen by the Division of Earth and Life Studies (DELS), and involves the DELS Board on Life Sciences and the Board on Science Education of the Division on Behavioral and Social Sciences and Education.
