In addition to National Academies reports, the Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee, and the educational primer on Understanding Stem Cells, there are a number of other activities related to stem cell research at the National Academies:
- The Interstate Alliance on Stem Cell Research (IASCR) is a voluntary body whose mission is to advance stem cell research (human embryonic, adult, and other) by fostering effective interstate collaboration, by assisting states in developing research programs, and by promoting efficient and responsible use of public funds. The National Academies serves as the Secretariat for the IASCR.
- The Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences holds occasional events about scientific and policy topics including stem cell research. See, for example, the October 2007 event on Understanding Stem Cells: Science and Policy featuring Dr. John Gearhart and Dr. Jonathan Moreno.
